‘Arrow’ season 2 finale spoilers: Series boss on tying up loose ends

Take a look -We’ve loved “Arrow” season 2, and found it quite possibly the best season for any superhero show to ever be on TV. But does this make this season a perfect one? Of course not. If there has been one major problem with it, it is that there has been so much going on that it’s hard to remember all of it, especially when it comes to what’s important and what is not.

But, according to showrunner Andrew Kreisberg, much of what you thought were distractions may not be distractions at all. Speaking to TVLine about the epic season finale “The Unthinkable,” a good percentage of everything that you’ve seen so far is going to end up being important:

“There may have been a lot of what seemed like detours this season, but it all plays out in the last few episodes … Hopefully, everyone will see the method to our madness and find the finale to be an exciting culmination of the season, as opposed to just a great episode.”

We want to take this to mean that maybe Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad are not done yet, but that’s more of our own desire as a avid viewer of the show than anything that is for-sure happening. We can see there being closure for many of the new characters (Sebastian Blood and Sin are two good examples), but we would be shocked to see someone like the Huntress return before season 3. It all comes down to which storylines can be brought back that will further the battle of Oliver vs. Slade, and which are completely irrelevant to that. Helena and Malcolm Merlyn, for example, are two people who may not need to be dealt with right away.
