‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ not end of franchise, despite rumors

American Horror Story -At the moment, there is not that much more news about the upcoming season of “American Horror Story” beyond what is already out there. However, that does not mean that there is still nothing to talk about when it comes to the future of the series.

With this mind, we’re making a good bit of this particular story about the show all about trying to address one pretty hefty rumor: Is the upcoming “Freak Show” going to be the end of the franchise? That is something that has fans worried, and it stems from some supposed interview that co-creator Ryan Murphy gave.

Well, here’s the truth: It’s not ending if Murphy has anything to do with it. The prolific showrunner tells E!’s Kristin Dos Santos that he wants the series to go for ten years if it can, and he never said anything to the contrary. The ratings at the moment for the show certainly suggests that FX has no interest in getting rid of it, either. When you consider that there is no linked story from one year to the next, there is no reason to think that there could be ten years of horror stories or more, so long as the quality remains high and viewers remain interested.

We personally believe that most of these rumors probably stemmed from the talk that this is going to be Jessica Lange’s last season on the show. Some out there probably saw these stories, and used that to think with horror (pun obviously intended) that this could also signal the end of the franchise as we know it.
