‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Strange Paul Wesley – Nina Dobrev scenes

One of the interesting things about the promotional campaign out there for the next “Vampire Diaries” episode entitled “Resident Evil” is just how little of the focus has actually been on Paul Wesley as an actor. We know that he is directing the episode for the first time, but the guy’s still got to take on his role as well, right? Stefan has barely been mentioned in some of the press materials that are out there!

Well, we’re not happy enough to reveal that Stefan will in have a major presence in this story, at least based on what we know now via TV Guide. The twist is just that his presence will not come in the way in which you expect. There will be a number of “what if?” scenes that take place with Wesley and Nina Dobrev, and they are dreams that are tied to the doppelganger prophecy. Why bring that back around? It’s because we are going to finally get some more information about it! It’s kind that someone decided that Wesley’s directorial debut would be the opportunity we got to finally discuss this a little more in full.

In addition to all of this, the report also teases that there will be a familiar face to most of the cast who turns up at some point during the episode … but this appearance may not necessarily be met with smiles. As a matter of fact,
