‘The Originals’ episode 18 preview: Party-crashing and ‘The Big Uneasy’

“The Originals” is still wading into uncharted waters at the moment, and this is both exciting and also frustrating at the same time. The exciting part comes in that it’s hard to guess what sort of crazy event or circumstance could arrive at the characters’ doorsteps next. On the flip side, some of the mystery comes in trying to figure out if the show is going to find a consistent direction now that we no longer have Rebekah.

In the sneak-peek video below, you can at least get a somewhat-better understanding of just what the story of “The Big Uneasy” Tuesday night is going to be about. This means that you will have an opportunity in order to see first and foremost whether or not the witches can come together now thanks to their new-found freedom, and then if they are able to throw a party for themselves without anything terrible happening in the process.

Well, a bit of a spoiler alert here: There are of course bad things that happen with this party. As Julie Plec and Michael Narducci explain, some sort of terrible event unfolds, and Elijah’s dream of actually being able to have the treaty last falls apart quicker than Klaus’ frequent attempts to get Caroline to be with him longer than just a few short minutes. (Not to open any old wounds for fans of that particular “Vampire Diaries” pairings.)

By the end of this episode, maybe we’ll get a chance to see the true order of things in New Orleans.
