‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 1 video: Cersei and Jaime’s confrontation

When “Game of Thrones” season 4 starts off on HBO Sunday night, there will be some conflict that is made apparent right away between some of our major characters. You would think that we would see Jaime and Cersei Lannister happy to see one another after so much time apart, but as the sneak peek video for the premiere below suggests, that is hardly the case.

While there is probably  apart of both these characters pleased to be near one another again, Cersei’s disdain seems to be coming from a place of frustration that she had to wait for this long a time in order for this to happen. It’s also interesting that this is somehow not the first conversation that these two had upon his return to King’s Landing. Clearly, someone gave Nicolaj Coster-Waldau’s character enough time to visit the local King’s Landing barber and get himself a proper trim to no longer look like a guy who has spent the past two seasons rolling around in mud and other filth.

As for what has happened to Jaime’s travel partner Brienne, that is a story that is still under wraps for the new season. All we will say for now is that there will be quite a bit that unfolds there, and not all of it is going to be easy for Gwendoline Christie’s character to handle. We’re bummed that she and Jaime are not going to be together all the time anymore, mostly because that was our favorite connection out of any on this show.
