‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 18 preview: Show boss on a different sort of plan for Slade

Manu -Wednesday night, fans of “Arrow” are going to be getting so much more than they bargained for with their new episode “Deathstroke.” This episode is simply the last for a few weeks, but through watching it, you may actually feel like it is the last episode for the entire season. The story has an epic feel to it from start to finish, and one of the reasons for that is thanks to the massive story that the writers want to tell for the man known as Slade Wilson.

You will learn more about Manu Bennett’s character throughout, but perhaps most importantly, you will understand better by the end of the story why he has made some of the decisions that he has and what his ultimate goals are. This is where we hand the baton over to Marc Guggenheim. Speaking to TVLine, the executive producer teases some of what you can expect in this hour:

“His endgame is actually pretty complicated. It’s not one move, it’s several, and he hits a few of them in this episode … At this point, Oliver knows that Slade’s plan is to basically take away everything and everyone he loves, including his city, and then kill him. But what Oliver doesn’t know are the specifics of how that plan will be enacted. And in this episode, he learns that the way Slade is planning on destroying him is completely unexpected.

“Oliver thought he was facing one kind of enemy, but the truth is he’s facing a very different kind, and that enemy will really surprise him.”

What we worry about with this show is that Oliver does have so many people that he could stand to lose, whether you are talking about someone like Thea (who is captured), Felicity, Diggle, or even his mother Moira. Regardless of whether or not he is close to her, she still is planted firmly within the crosshairs.
