‘Talking Dead’ finale: Andrew Lincoln says Rick Grimes is a ‘changed man’

Talking Dead -For the first time since the series first came on the air after new episodes of “The Walking Dead,” Andrew Lincoln actually showed up on “Talking Dead” Sunday night in order to do his best to explain what transpired … and also what is coming up for Rick Grimes.

The biggest thing we found out through all of this? That Lincoln is so committed to his craft that he is willing to stick raw chicken in his mouth for that biting scene with Joe. Here’s what he said to Chris Hardwick about it:

“Greg Nicotero kept sidling up to be in the week preceding this scene, and he kept saying ‘we need to talk about the [bite gag]. And he said, ‘chicken or beef?'”

Lincoln said that this scene was the real moment on the show where the Rick Grimes that we knew earlier on this season (which was the inspiration for the flashbacks) ended, and shows the contrast between where we were, and where we are now. Rick is a “changed man,” and that is good news for the rest of the survivors who are in desperate need of a hero. Right now, these people are in a pretty darn horrendous situation. They aren’t in a position to do anything other than trying to survive, and he can inspire them to fight back and take these people down. We just don’t think that it is going to happen for him right away. This plan, like many others, will likely take time.
