‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: Wendell returns in ‘The High in the Low’

What's ahead -While drugs are often the talk of conversation for one reason or another, let’s face it: One typically ends up being the subject of conversation more than others. Everyone has an opening on marijuana usage, especially thanks to some states deciding to legalize it over the past year. This may have been an inspiration at least in part to the new episodes of “Bones” entitled “The High in the Low” airing a week from Monday, but we also feel like there is probably still so much more at play than that.

For some details of that, including the return of Wendell after making the tough decision to undercover cancer treatments rather than just traveling the world and allowing himself to die, take a look at the synopsis below:

“The Jeffersonian team investigates the death an art school dropout struggling with Lupus, whose remains were found inside a log in a forest. When the team learns about the victim’s use of cannabis to treat her pain, it leads them to the dispensary where she worked, and they uncover more shocking details that could have contributed to her death. Meanwhile, squintern Wendell Bray (guest star Michael Grant Terry) returns after starting cancer treatments, and while working on the case, he starts to open up more about his illness, only to reveal some shocking news that may end in his termination.”

Somewhat of a downer, right? Just in case things could not be any worse for the Wendell character, we realize that there is something that could cause him to become in serious danger of losing his job. We want to believe that he will make it through this okay in the end still, though, mostly because he is a guy who we like to think of as a fighter, and of the show as one that has a typically-hopeful tone who is not going to want to wish too many terrible things upon any of its characters.

Of course, we want to hear some of your thoughts on this episode below, and hit up the link here if you want to watch a preview for the one airing Monday night. Also, sign up to get some clues and updates from us on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
