‘The X Factor’ notes: Alex & Sierra, Miley Cyrus, Gary Barlow, and Simon Cowell

The latest news -There’s quite a bit to get to when it comes to “The X Factor” today, so we’re going to shuffle through some of the British-show highlights first before getting to the latest from one of our favorite acts from America in Alex & Sierra.

Miley Cyrus will not be a judge – Just in case you ever thought otherwise, which was silly given that this was a very silly rumor in the first place. Miley is making millions upon mills for her “Bangerz” tour right now, which is far more than what ITV could probably even afford to pay her to sit down and be a judge.

The best part about this rumor is the way in which it was denied. A source from the Miley camp talk the Mirror that Simon has a better chance of getting “Elvis or Gandhi to be a judge.” Miley’s only real reality TV experience comes from a one-episode stint as a mentor for “American Idol” years ago, which was somewhat controversial at the time because she was so young.

In case you are wondering, Simon has also denied the Rihanna judging rumor … which we told you was false days ago.

Gary Barlow gives his pick – On last night’s “Alan Carr: Chatty Man,” the former judge and master of dapper suits said that if he could choose someone to join Cowell, Cheryl Cole, and Louis Walsh on the panel this coming season, he’d just bring back Nicole Scherzinger again:

“For me I’d have Nicole back again. I thought she was a great judge and for all of her contestants she was great, she’d spend all week meeting with them, going to Greggs with them. She really did work really hard.”

Just for fun, here is a video of Barlow from the show singing with none other than Kermit the Frog.

Alex & Sierra’s gig -Guess where these two are going to be tonight? Think along the lines of the 2014 Kids Choice Awards! The winners of the last season of the U.S. show posted on Twitter their red-carpet pass for the big event. They are the second straight “X Factor” act to visit the awards show, as Fifth Harmony was on the colorful carpet last year.

The awards-show airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on Nickelodeon, so keep a lookout for them. Even if they do not get much TV time, they will at least get a chance to have some red-carpet photos and interviews. This is great for us when it comes to sharing some more news soon.
