‘The X Factor’ notes: Alex & Sierra, Simon Cowell, and … Rihanna?

For all of you “X Factor” fans out there around the world, we’ll start this edition of our notes off with something that we always cherish: A new tease from Alex & Sierra. The two have been hard at work as of late getting ready their debut album, and going through everything that comes with that.

Is the recent photo shoot that the two took part in a part of that process? Some of the details are still to be released, but the photo that they recently teased on their Twitter page is definitely something that looks like it could come from an album shoot. It also feels very down-to-earth and organic, which is the sort of thing that they should be striving for in their music. Thanks to the impact that the American show had in its first season, they are probably working overtime to make sure that they not only keep the loyal fans, but then bring in a whole new audience who never even watched a second of this past season. It’s a challenge, but they have the talent to pull it off.

Is Rihanna really a possibility? – Now, let us turn to a rumor that is really just crazy more than it is anything else: A story via the Daily Star claims that Simon Cowell is working hard to get Rihanna as a judge on the next “X Factor” season, using words like “shock” to describe how badly he wants to surprise everyone with someone who viewers would not expect.

We’re sure that Simon does want Rihanna, but we have an incredibly hard time believing that she is going to stop her career and millions upon millions of touring / recording dollars for this. She doesn’t need the promotion, and this show would not help with the image that she wants viewers to have of her. The only reason we could ever see this happening is if she really for some reason wants to be a judge on a reality singing show.
