ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: The meaning of ‘Veritas’

Take a look -Anytime that you get near the end of a season of any show, it’s fair to worry and/or freak out over almost every little thing associated with the show, whether it be a casting, a filming location, or even an episode title.

In this case, we are talking about the latter after SpoilerTV revealed recently that the name for the 22nd episode of this “Castle” season (which is the penultimate one) is going to be “Veritas.” For those wondering what this means, it is the name of the goddess of truth, and also what many modern words (such as “verify”) are derived from. Given that this show rarely uses words that are outside the English language for titles, it is certainly worth noting when they do. One of the reasons for it is to find a way to say something, without having it sound as generic as just titling your episode “Truth.” “Veritas” is more interesting, and will surely stay on the tongues of fans much longer.

To name an episode of this show in particular this is very interesting, mostly due to the fact that “Castle” is a show that should be pretty familiar with the definition of truth by now. You see them try to uncover the truth week in and week out with every single case handed to them, which leads us to believe that this is probably a reference to something deeper related to Castle, Beckett, or any other character that has been important to the story. Being that Andrew Marlowe recently hinted that there would be a return to some of the show’s recent mythology before the end of the season, maybe this has to do with Bracken or 3KX. Those are the two most notable threads that are still open-ended on the show.
