‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 finale spoilers: Robert Kirkman lays the groundwork

Andrew Lincoln -With the finale of “The Walking Dead” coming on Sunday night, there is seemingly one thing that you can really expect to come crawling your way, slowly and methodically kind of like a world-weary zombie: Drama, and also a few shockers sprinkled in. Also, plenty of storytelling revolving around Rick Grimes.

We’ve heard a complaint or two about the lack of Andrew Lincoln on the show lately, and we understand it. He is technically billed as the lead, but he has barely been featured at all in the past four episodes. Luckily, the finale, simply entitled “A,” looks to change that based on what executive producer Robert Kirkman tells Entertainment Weekly:

“This last half of season 4 has been a character defining group of stories for everyone … but really, Rick Grimes — really finding what this guy is going to be able to do and how he is going to carry on, and is he going to get these people back together, and where is he going to go from here? And I think there are some big questions that are asked that are going to be answered in this final episode.”

Kirkman also teased in particular two things that you especially need to be on the lookout for.

1. An ending that is going to make people even more desperate for new episodes than the wait between any other seasons.

2. An individual action by Rick that will completely “shock” people, as we watch him be taken to his limit in a way that we have not seen for virtually any other character so far.

One other interesting subject that has also haunted our mind at times when it comes to the show is the title: “A.” Does this mean that the chief villain of “Pretty Little Liars” is coming to Terminus? Without referencing the comics or anything else, the first thing that we think of when seeing the letter isolated like that is The Scarlet Letter, and we wonder already if the Claimers are going to stamp that mark upon him. We know that he is a wanted man, and thanks to that he has something far worse to worry about than just a horde of zombies.
