‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Adam Lambert will return in ‘New New York’

The latest -The April 1 episode of “Glee,” no joke, may feel in many ways like a completely different show. You are adjusting on the fly to a new, smaller cast, a new setting for many of the characters, and a chance to tell stories that are way more adult. This is all basically what the writers should have considered doing after season 3.

Nonetheless, we are getting it now, and the episode coming up, entitled “New New York,” seems to have a generous dose of stories … and it also has a time jump in it. Why is Ryan Murphy so hesitant to ever show anything that ever happens over the summer? That is a very good question … and we’ll turn now to sharing what is the full synopsis for this one:

“A few months after the end of the glee club, New Directions alumni are adjusting to their new lives in the Big Apple: Blaine and Sam have moved in with Kurt, while Artie experiences difficulties navigating the mean streets of Manhattan. Also, Rachel gets accustomed to being a Broadway star, and Mercedes (guest star Amber Riley) moves to New York to work on her album.”

Does anyone else find it funny that Blaine at one point had a crush on Sam, and now the two are living under the same room with Kurt? Sam was never interested back, so we guess it’s okay. This synopsis does at least do a good job of letting us know who most of the major players are … though Santana is for some reason missing in action here. We know that Naya Rivera has not left the show, but it’s always possible that there is something that caused her to be written out for a few weeks. (Or, maybe she just filmed something top-secret separate from the rest of the cast.)

As for some other good news, Adam Lambert’s coming back! Presumably the final Starchild appearances on the show are going to happen in April, and with more characters in New York and the singer’s busy schedule, this seems about right.
