‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Lana Parrilla differentiates Evil Queen, Wicked Witch
“Once Upon a Time” has returned to ABC with something that has stood out both creatively and also in the ratings, and we have to be thankful for that. However, at the same time it’s still in our nature to be curious, especially since there are still so many mysteries regarding what is coming up ahead.
So what do we know right now? The focal point of the story appears to be a battle between the Evil Queen Regina and the Zelena, the Wicked Witch from the land of Oz, with the latter seemingly interested in destroying everything Regina knows and loves. Do we understand the motivation? Not even slightly, given that Regina has not exactly ever dong anything that is truly terrible to her sister. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t even know who she is.
But what Lana Parrilla was kind enough to recently in an E! News interview was try and create a distinction between one sister and the other. Both are evil in a way, but the difference seems to be the way that they each go about doing things:
“She wants to hurt people for different reasons than the evil queen wanted to kill Snow White … Their costumes are very similar, but their intentions are very different, like they’re fighting for different causes. She wants to hurt people for different reasons. She’s wicked.”
Personally, we still wonder whether or not the true cause of Zelena’s attack has been revealed at all, since there’s nothing really for the witch to gain by going after the Queen not. She’s not interested in her castle or her title, after, and there’s another question that goes along with this: Why in the world would you want to send everyone to Storybrooke again? Something’s not adding up here, even if she is “wicked.”
While it may not give you many clues as to Zelena’s intentions, the synopsis for Sunday night’s “The Tower” is still worth checking out. why? It’s all about the arrival of Rapunzel!
