‘How I Met Your Dad’: ‘Mixology’ actor among latest ‘How I Met Your Mother’ ‘spin-off’ castings
Has CBS almost rounded out the cast for “How I Met Your Dad“? It certainly seems like it, thanks to the latest round of casting that was confirmed late this week.
Let’s start off with what we know for sure: Greta Gerwig is going to play the leading lady Sally, who starts off the show in another marriage before getting out of it and exploring single life again. The show has also cast one of her best friends, as Drew Tarver will play the part of Todd on the show. There were rumors that Eliza Dushku was going to play the other major female part of the show, or what we like to call Carrie Bradshaw meets Barney Stinson. (The character runs a fashion blog.) She read a script for the role, but Krysta Rodriguez of “Smash” ended up getting the part.
Today, we are pleased to announce a new potential series regular, and also someone who would recur throughout the first season if the show is picked up.
Nick D’Agosto – In what must be an indicator as to how much he is going to show up as Ethan on “Masters of Sex” moving forward, the actor is set to play the role of Frank, who works IT for Juliet’s fashion blog.
Anders Holm – The former “Mindy Project” actor and “Workaholics” star will play the recurring role of Gavin, Sally’s “husband” who she will be leaving very early on in the series.
Both of these castings excite us, though we feel like Holm isn’t getting the best treatment online since “The Mindy Project” was not a great show while he was on. We blame that more for his character not really fitting in, though, than anything in particular that he did.
