‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: Kevin McKidd teases big Cristina episode
Before “Grey’s Anatomy” season 10 says goodbye to the Dr. Cristina Yang character, you better believe that they are going to give her the send-off that she deserves. For more evidence of that, all you have to do is read ahead on what the writers have planned.
In case you have not heard yet, there is an episode coming up that could be a form of the classic “what if?” episode, with the change being that it revolves around Sandra Oh’s character looking at a series of different scenarios that could happen when it comes to her romantic life. The best comparison here is actually to the 100th episode of “The Big Bang Theory,” which featured Leonard mapping up his future with Penny, and how he decided to seek out a relationship with her even if he couldn’t imagine a future that did not end badly.
Kevin McKidd confirmed in a TV Guide interview recently that Owen will in fact be the romantic partner that Cristina ponders a future again with in this episode, and he also describes what is the catalyst for this coming up in the first place:
“A patient makes Cristina’s character [think about] possible scenarios of where they’re going to end up because they keep coming back to each other.”
We suspect that by the end of this episode, there could be a greater sense of clarity, even if it is not the sort of clarity that you may be hoping for. Instead, this episode could serve mostly to just further pave the way for Cristina leaving the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital and try to start a new life elsewhere … with the difference this time being that it actually sticks. We’ve seen the character move away before, after all, but in that instance, she decided to come back rather than stay buried underneath a sheet of Minnesota snow.
