‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2 officially not returning until ‘summer’
For “Beauty and the Beast” fans, this may be a difficult pill to swallow. While the CW series has not been canceled yet, they also are not giving much of a ringing endorsement with the latest announcement that the show will not return until the summer to finish off airing the remainder of its second season.
Some out there likely saw this move coming. The network revealed some of their finale dates recently, and “Beauty and the Beast” was nowhere to be found on that list. This means that for the time being, there are no plans to shift any of the other shows around. The only change we could feasibly see happening here is if the new show “The 100” bombs so miserable that they need a placeholder for that timeslot, but even that seems unlikely.
The summer is not typically regarded well when it comes to a landing place for scripted shows, but there is one thing that we are interested in seeing for “Beauty and the Beast”: Whether or not it can fare better without the competition. The show has aired against the likes of “The Voice,” “The Bachelor,” and “Dancing with the Stars” this season, and it is not like many other shows for The CW have fared well in this timeslot. It is still likely to be canceled, but this is something that could at least help to satisfy our curiosity. If our worst fears are in fact realized, we merely hope that many of the actors land somewhere else on the network in the near future. After all, The CW does have a nice tradition of reusing people from past shows for new programming. Just ask Nathaniel Buzolic or Katie Cassidy about that.

This beautiful show needs to be on a cable station that draws female viewers! Not the CW who targets young adults who could care less about romance and true love! I hope Jay Ryan gets a movie deal as a superhero in a franchise that will shoot him to superstardom! He is a gifted actor who is also beautiful and well deserving of this honor! Cable networks where are you ???

It’s a shame that CW Network doesn’t seem to care much for a show that has been winning all online polls and very popular internationally. It deserves much better treatment! Hopefully, it will do better in the summer when there aren’t any competition shows. And yes, even if it doesn’t get renewed, I am hoping that the actors will land in other shows!
