‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 16 video: Exec on John Diggle, ‘Suicide Squad’ story
As someone who loves “Arrow” for its ensemble cast as well as its commitment to telling its own version of what we traditionally see in the comic books, we have to say that we are beyond excited to see what is coming up in “Suicide Squad” next week. You have what is at its core here something firmly rooted in DC tradition, but at the same time, it is also something that is so very different.
At the center of this is none other than John Diggle, and in the video below, show executive producer Marc Guggenheim teases precisely what makes Diggle’s presence here so important. Rather than just have this be a group of reformed baddies, it is a group of people he is connected with; as a matter of fact, one of them in Floyd Lawton a.k.a. Deadshot is responsible for the death of his brother.
Sadly, this video does not give you anything new on that mysterious Harley Quinn lookalike that was teased in this episode’s preview, but to be honest, we will be surprised if there ever is anything more said on that this season. That feels more like something the show wants to set up for a story down the road, but given how little of Harley we’ve seen in the live-action superhero world, there are interesting stories to mine from it.
But for now, “Arrow” already has enough on its plate in between Slade Wilson, Sebastian Blood, the Lances trying to get along, and what happens now with Oliver and Sara on the island.
