‘Survivor: Cagayan’ rankings: Has anything changed on the Brains tribe?
One week ago, we were proclaiming the Brains to be the biggest mess of a tribe in the history of “Survivor.” They got rid of a strong player in Garrett, kept someone around in J’Tia who had already shown herself to be a menace around camp, and looked completely incapable of really winning anything.
Then, the unthinkable happened when the group actually ended up saving themselves thanks to the Beauty tribe suffering a complete meltdown in the last immunity challenge. They’ve still got the same four players now that they had a week ago. With that, what’s the point of new rankings? The truth here is that we do know a little bit more about dynamics and about where everyone stands than we did a week before, and it helps to figure out who is poised to last at least a little while longer, and who is likely heading out the door.
As we’ve said in the past, there are three components that we are judging these castaways on above all else: Strategy, edit, and overall effectiveness.
4. Spencer Bledsoe (last week: 3) – We really like the way that Spencer approaches the game, and we would like to see him make it a lot further, but pretty much everyone confirmed on the show within his tribe that he was in big trouble. It’s hard to really look at him now as anything other than an underdog.
3. J’Tia Taylor (4) – Somehow, Even though Tasha said that she almost voted out J’Tia over Garrett, she didn’t; not only that, but she also didn’t see interested in targeting her this time. The one thing J’Tia has going for her now is desperation. She knows that neither Spencer nor Kass could be that close to her now, so she’s suddenly valuable when it comes to Tasha’s game.
2. Kass McQuillen – The biggest thing that Kass has to worry about right now is Spencer. If Tasha and J’Tia are a twosome, he could try to do everything in his power to convince them that they are much better off going with him into a possible tribal swap, Or, he could argue that he could be a slightly better contributor in challenges. Like Spencer, we like Kass a lot, so hopefully the Brains just win another challenge or two.
1. Tasha Fox – Still, there is no arguing from this vantage point just who is the woman running this tribe. Tasha’s one of the best athletes, she’s got the best alliance, and while keeping J’Tia is risky, she’s more more indebted to her than Garrett would have ever been. Even if the Brains lose again, she should be good enough to make it to a potential swap.
