‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: More on Freddie Prinze Jr.’s return
There are many changes coming to “Bones” when it returns to the air on March 10. Not only is the show moving back to Mondays after spending some this season on Fridays, there a new story, one that features the return of a familiar face from earlier this season in Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Danny Peck. Anytime that he shows up, you have to assume that something dangerous is happening. After all, he is not someone who is going to grace the show unless some sort of serious you-know-what is going down.
In case you hadn’t heard already, this March 10 episode is entitled “The Source in the Sludge,” and the synopsis below helps in some ways to tee up some of what is coming around the bend:
“When a CIA informant is found murdered, Booth and CIA Agent Danny Beck (guest star Freddie Prinze Jr.) must work together to track down an Afghani terrorist. Meanwhile, Brennan wants to work more closely with Booth in the field, and the duo must confront the implications of what that means to their family.”
The challenge that is present for this episode comes mostly in that you have Booth and Brennan ultimately trying to figure out what sort of problems that they are going to be facing when they are both in harm’s way. There is a pretty substantial difference between someone doing most of their work in a lab, and then getting out into the field and trying to impact missions and cases from there. It’ll be interesting to see just how this one ultimately plays out.
