‘Dancing with the Stars’ 18: Who could join Tom Bergeron as co-host?
“Dancing with the Stars” dropped the sort of shocker today that you typically see only in the ballroom, as co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet was relieved of her duties mere weeks before the show returns to ABC next month. It’s a decision that we are guessing is for financial reasons as the show struggles in the 18-49 demographic, and it comes after they have already made some changes when it comes to the live band.
So who could end up stepping into these hosting / not-dancing shoes? We have come up with at least a few suggestions now that should feel familiar already to fans of the show.
Drew Lachey – He guest-hosted way back when during Samantha Harris’ maternity leave, and he is one of the more well-liked winners. Could he have another go at it?
Samantha Harris – Speaking of Samantha, why not go with the original? Like Brooke, she has seven seasons of experience; the difference is that Samantha was a good source for unintentional comedy and entertainment.
Carson Kressly – Ever since he came on the show and then guest-hosted, everyone has been begging for more Carson. We’re firmly in this camp. He’s hilarious.
Melissa Rycroft – Who not consider her? She’s a two-time dancer, a former “Bachelor” contestants, and has deep ties to everyone at ABC. Plus, she generally likable and has hosting experience.
No one – To be honest, there is really no need for another host with the way that the contestants are seated, and with the show being a night a week. Just let Tom Bergeron do everything, since he’s getting paid so much money to be there and he’s pretty amazing at the job.
