‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Exec on Felicity-centric story, Robert Knepper
“Arrow” fans, the wait for new episodes is almost over! Starting next week, you will get an opportunity to see the first of two new episodes airing in consecutive weeks. Yes, it’s true that there will be another repeat that comes on the air after that, but at least two episodes in a row is better than nothing … especially when yo learn a thing or two about what these episodes are going to contain.
Specifically, executive producer Marc Guggenheim says in the video below that “Time of Death” on Wednesday is going to be a story that very much puts the character of William Tockman / Clock King against Felicity, and really becomes her nemesis in a way that she hasn’t quite had before. This is effective for the show really for a pair of reasons:
1. Both Oliver and Diggle each have their own villains that they take out, but no one has really been dedicated to be the rival of Emily Bett Rickards’ character.
2. Robert Knepper’s character shows up at a time when Felicity is starting to question her place in the group. Sara, after all, is a much more capable physical presence than she is, and she also has Oliver’s heart at the moment. She is going to start feeling left out, and this gives her a chance to be a hero again.
Just in case you need another reason to watch this for whatever reason, Knepper is also apparently rather awesome in it … which really shouldn’t surprise anyone, given that he is often awesome on a pretty consistent basis.
