Jimmy Kimmel teams up with Olympian Kate Hansen for Sochi ‘wolf’ viral video
We suppose that when you are competing against Olympic coverage in addition to the launch of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC, you really have to pull out almost all of the stops. Jimmy Kimmel is certainly doing that right now, even if that means tricking a good many people in the process.
Yesterday, Kimmel managed to convince U.S. luge athlete Kate Hansen to post a video seemingly of herself, scared to death while a wolf wanders around the hallway of where she is staying in Sochi. Why was this so believable? Because it is Sochi, the same place in Russia where there have been all sorts of other crazy stuff that has taken place, whether it be hotels with brown water, bathrooms with toilets (but not dividers), or major issues when it comes to doors not having proper handles on them. For a “resort town,” there have been stories that suggest that it would be a vacationer’s nightmare.
Within the past 24 hours, this video has managed to gain more than a million views on YouTube … and today, Kimmel seemingly took ownership of it by suggesting that a “wolf” will be featured on tonight’s sow. This is not the first time that he has managed to use the internet in order to help spread around a fake video; previously, he did it with a woman who seemed to suffer some sort of massive injury after having one of the biggest twerking parties of all time.
We applaud Jimmy for finding a way to make everyone fall for this … though this one was a little bit harder to believe in the first place. For one, if you look close enough, you can see that this supposed-wild wolf is actually wearing a collar.
