‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: What Lea Michele, Naya Rivera are up to in ‘Trio’
Are a pair of “Glee” characters starting to make amends after a major spat? While we cannot say that just yet, we can guarantee that Rachel Berry and Santana Lopez are going to be spending some time around each other in “Trio,” the next new episode of the show that is airing on Tuesday, March 4.
One of the stories that has been super hyped about the show’s return (entitled “Frenemies”) is that there is a conflict that comes out of Rachel learning that her roommate has decided to try out to become her understudy in “Funny Girl.” What’s the problem with that? It seems mostly akin to her feeling like someone who is supposed to be her friend is instead trying to intrude on her dream.
Granted, Rachel could tell herself that so long as she doesn’t fall ill or there are no problems during the production, she is going to have no problems with Santana being the understudy. However, this is Rachel that we are talking about here, and there is of course going to be paranoia. What if the producers suddenly decide that they like Santana more than her for the part? What can she do about it? She certainly cannot freak out over it, mostly because that would be a way to almost completely guarantee that she never gets a spot on a Broadway show again. She would simply have to grin and bear it, and that’s not something that she would like to do.
