‘Lindsay’: OWN releases first photo of Lindsay Lohan docu-series

What are we learning right now about OWN’s promotional strategy for their upcoming Lindsay Lohan series? Basically, that they really do feel like less is more when it comes to the troubled actress.

This series, entitled “Lindsay,” is going to be premiering on March 9, and it is pretty darn easy to sum it up: They obviously want Lohan to be portrayed at least in part as someone still capable of being a glamorous actress. Notice the styled hair? The red lipstick? This is something that could be an ad for some sort of perfume just as much as it could be a spot for a TV show. Heck, we bet that you would never guess that this was a show at all if you saw this photo out on the street somewhere.

The whole purpose of this series is to take a look deep into the life of Lohan, including how she plans to use her new team around her (including a sober coach) to ensure that she can get a new start in Hollywood and the entertainment industry, and learn to not fall victim to any of the same mistakes that she has previously made.

If there is one thing that we’ll give this series credit for now, it is that Lindsay has not been in the press nearly as much lately for some of her various issues. It’s been a quieter span of time, so maybe she really is learning. At the same time, though, it’s hard to say that this gig is really helping her much at all when it comes to her career. After all, we haven’t been hearing about Lindsay signing up for any big acting gigs. Who knows, though? Maybe she is still going on auditions.
