‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Ginnifer Goodwin on what makes Wicked Witch evil
The new season of “Once Upon a Time” is still very much shrouded in mystery. You have a cliffhanger at the end of the fall courtesy of Emma Swan forgetting about her past, and then you have the knowledge that Rebecca Mader’s character of the Wicked Witch is on the loose.
But is the Witch really going to be that evil most of the time? That’s the real challenge, and what makes her such a compelling and frightening addition to this season. As Ginnifer Goodwin tells TVLine, the counterpart of this character in Storybrooke (where the characters will somehow be back at thanks to mysterious circumstances) is going to be someone who is extremely deceiving:
“is seemingly a kindred spirit to Snow White, which is part of what makes her so evil … She seems so genuinely kind and has a way of becoming intimate with others and making them trust her…. Rebecca Mader called her ‘Mary Poppins,’ because she was just so damn likeable!”
Obviously, this witch has some sort of motivation that is not completely apparent to everyone just yet, and she will also be spending plenty of time fighting with Lana Parrilla’s Regina when the story picks back up. (The latest promo for the show is evidence of that.)
As for what else is going to be coming up for Goodwin’s Snow White / Mary Margaret, one of the big questions to us is just finding out whether or not she will make good on her hopes to have another child, especially since the actress is in real life expecting a child with co-star / Prince Charming in more ways than one Josh Dallas.
New episodes of the show begin on Sunday, March 9, but if you just can’t wait and want even more “Once Upon a Time” scoop then just head over to the link here and let us get you up to date.. Also, sign up for our CarterMatt Newsletter if you want to get some more updates via email.
