‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: The Ghostfacers return in ‘#THINMAN’

Check it out -While we are certainly well aware that the Ghostfacers are firmly rooted in the “Supernatural” lore, we feel the same way about them that we do many of the other long-standing characters from the franchise: Don’t just introduce them again for the sake of doing so. It you have another good story to share featuring the characters, that is the time to really bring them back into the world..

Hopefully, this is what the producers of the show are doing with “#THINMAN,” the somewhat-bizarrely named episode of the series that is airing on Tuesday, March 4. Jensen Ackles doesn’t even tweet, and you are giving the show a title that has a hashtag included in it? This is also mostly funny thanks to the fact that nine years ago, nobody had any clue what Twitter even was.

We’ve got some of the early details about this story now, which you can see in the official synopsis below from The CW:

“A teenage girl (guest star Ali Webb) is killed and the final selfie she took before the attack shows a ghostly figure in the background. Looking for something to keep them busy, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) head to Washington to find the ghost. While the two interview the girl’s mother, Betty (guest star Maria Marlow), they are surprised when she starts talking about cold spots and fritzing. When they ask her about bringing up paranormal signs, Betty replies that the “supernaturalists” who called earlier brought it up. Enter Harry (guest star Ryan Moss) and Ed (guest star A.J. Buckley), the famous supernaturalists.”

Does this one sound fun to you? Personally, it does at least feel like there is a sense of excitement and tension around it. Also, there are selfies! We look for a little bit of comedy and drama, but based on this synopsis, we don’t really look for any of Castiel or Crowley. If nothing else, we at least have those videos of Misha Collins getting pied in the face to make us smile while we wait to see what happens next.
