TV quick hits: ‘Grimm,’ ‘Veep’ season 3 castings, ‘Parks and Recreation’ drama, and more

For this latest edition of TV quick hits, we’ve got some more casting updates, a sad update from the world of ‘Parks and Recreation,” and also news about a pilot that is coming together featuring a former star of the Pawnee world.

Meet Mike’s wife! – Wanted to find out more about one of Selina Meyer’s staffers on “Veep”? Then you will be very pleased to hear the following news. According to E! News, Kathy Najimy, who we will forever remember for “Hocus Pocus” even though she had done a ton of other stuff, is going to appear in at least four episodes of the comedy in the role of Mike’s wife. That is tremendous news for her, and also the show as it brings someone else in who is very experienced in comedy.

A “Grimm” manhunt – In continuing the theme of casting news for a moment, get ready to meet someone very important to the immediate future of “Grimm.” According to a report from TVLine, Philip Anthony-Rodriguez of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” will appear in at least three episodes of the NBC show as a man named Marcus Ruspoli. While there is not too much known about the character, he is a part of Varrat, a group that helps to protect the Wesen world and in particular looks after many of the royal families. This one should be pretty interesting to watch unfold.

“Parks and Recreation” sadness – Remember that notable episodes from earlier this year that featured Leslie and Ben attaching a lock to the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris? Well, apparently that lock has since been stolen, which is one of the saddest things that we can think of for those who wanted to see the lock in the real world and take pictures next to it. Showrunner Mike Schur confirmed the news on Twitter, and even asked for the culprit to return it.

Rob Lowe series nets Rob Riggle – Rob Lowe only recently left “Parks and Recreation,” but his new series featuring him as a former tennis doubles pro who has struggled in the next phase of his life. Sources confirm that Riggle will play his partner on the show. As for what this means to the once-rumored “Modern Family” spin-off that would have featured Riggle, that remains to be seen.
