Could Lego accompany ‘Sherlock’ season 4? We can only dream

Sherlock season 3First of all, who knew that the plural for Lego was actually Lego? That’s something that thanks in part to the upcoming “Lego Movie,” that is somewhat beyond the point.

What is an interesting story right now is that it is looking more and more like a Lego set themed around “Sherlock” could actually be possible, crazy as that is to think about at first given that this show, while very popular, isn’t the sort of thing that you really think would be marketed to kids. However, the toy company announced today that “Sherlock” is  one of the products that qualified for the Winter 2014 LEGO Review. What does this mean? Basically, that the company will look at a proposal to make sets of Lego based on the franchise, and eventually make some sort of announcement as to whether or not something can be officially produced based on the proposal.

The other potential Lego products for this period include ones based on “The Legend of Zelda,” “Macross,” Japanese architecture, “Adventure Time,” and some themed around a certain famous car from “Back to the Future.”

From an outsider perspective, rights would probably be the most difficult thing to come with something related to this. For example, Nintendo already has a number of sets out there from a rival block company featuring many of their characters, and it would hard to see them suddenly having something related to Lego. If we were thinking for younger audiences, “Adventure Time” would probably be the most marketable. However, the “Sherlock” set to us is clearly one of the coolest. (Click here to view the proposal.)

What do you think about the idea of a “Sherlock” Lego set? Would you be game for picking some up? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and also visit the link here if you do want to read even more news about what could lie ahead for the series.
