‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Meet more than the Wicked Witch

You’ve already heard the big news that “Once Upon a Time” season 3 is going to be introducing the Wicked Witch for the rest of the spring. Also, you probably know that “Lost” alum Rebecca Mader is going to stepping in for this very wicked part.

Did you think that this was really going to be the only character from “The Wizard of Oz” that you were going to see? Hardly. TVLine reports that the ABC series is starting to prepare itself for the arrival of Glinda, the famous “good witch” from the story. The producers are looking for an actress to recur for at least a portion of the episodes ahead, and this character should be very kind, but also cautious. It sounds like when you first meet her, she will not have exactly spent a great deal of time living in anything other than isolation.

This casting also further opens up the show to possibilities about us paying a visit to Oz someday, which we would be happy to see so long as it is done right … i.e. not entirely in front of a green screen. We do recognize that time and budget make it hard for the show to do everything as well as they would want, but this, like Wonderland, feels like something that would seem obviously off featuring the technology. (That has been what has troubled us the most with the “Once Upon a Time” spin-off series as of late.)
