ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Will Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion plan a wedding soon?

For most of the season of “Castle,” the biggest question has not necessarily been whether or not Castle and Beckett could get married; instead, it has been more about “when” rather than “if.” It would have been too devastating, after all, for this couple to break up; also, fans would probably revolt to extreme levels if that was to ever happen.

Now that it is looking ore and more like there is a wedding on the horizon soon, the folks behind the scenes are also starting to speak out more about it. In a new chat with TV Guide, creator Andrew W. Marlowe did his part to make it clear just how the two parties have gotten close enough now that there really is not that much of a reason to wait forever for the ceremony to take place:

“The characters are getting a little more committal. You heard Castle halfway through the episode say that he’s wasted enough time and that he just wants to get to the other side because that’s where he want to be in life. So, we’re watching a process of something that was very theoretical for the two of them at the beginning of the season starting to crystallize. I think that there are going to be other issues that come up, but I think that the characters have a sense of where they want to head.”

Marlowe also suggested heavily that we could be seeing the show return at some point this season, which we’d like to believe at this point. Even though it could raise a question of “what happens next?” for season 7, we imagine that so long as you continue to have Nathan Filion and Stana Katic in the cast, they would be able to find a way to work it out.
