‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3 spoilers: Rachel Bilson, cake, and a quest for wellness
Are the statements above contradictory? You better believe it, and that is what could make the upcoming “Hart of Dixie” episode “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” all the more interesting.
The first question that we can understand you having is when this is going to air, mostly because the show is going to be shifting over to Friday nights at some point in the near future. That time is just not here yet and this episode will air a week from Monday night, and it sounds like ton of fun based on the synopsis below:
“Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and Joel (guest star Josh Cooke) finally buy a house, but soon realize neither of them make enough money to fix up the place. Brick (Tim Matheson) agrees to help Zoe out but only if she can get the townspeople to lose 500 pounds collectively for Health and Wellness Month. Joel is struggling with his novel and decides to follow Wade (Wilson Bethel) around for research, but when Wade leaves Joel to alone to run the bar, Joel finds himself in some trouble. Meanwhile, AnnaBeth (Kaitlyn Black) struggles to mask her feelings by throwing a last-minute bachelorette party for a friend.”
So here is where some of this comes into play: Talking about Health and Wellness Month, and then looking above to see Zoe Hart standing at what appears to be some sort of cake festival. There’s nothing healthier than cake, right? At least when it comes to the mind we feel that cake can help sometimes.
Admittedly, we imagine that there are some out there who are not that happy with the thought of seeing more of Zoe and Joel together, but personally, we don’t mind it so much. We actually like Joel as a character, and even though there are other people we would rather see with her, he is a pretty nice little diversion for the time being.

They are ruining my favorite show. Get rid of Linley and Joel or put joel with zoe’s cousin ! We need more Zoe and George or even Zoe and wade. This show is just dying, no excitement anymore. This fan is losing interest fast.

You are wrong—we DO mind it so much!!! I like Joel the character but their relationship is yawnsville. Enough of the Zoe and Joel show. OMG can we please get rid of this boring couple already. It is with Joel as I have imagined it would have been if she were with George! I love George and Tansy–I think they really had a lot of chemistry and hope they get back together. She brings out something in George that was NEVER present with Zoe. Poor Wade–we love him and loved the ongoing love story with him and Zoe. I didn’t think that they would get back together immediately on her return from NY. I figured it would be at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the third season before they would get back together. I did, however, assume that we would see them working to get back together. Then, bam, she comes back in a serious relationship with some guy from NY. What happened to the show being about Bluebell and the charming southern folk that Zoe fell in love with? It is now about 2 New Yorkers trying to fit in. I really don’t see where the creators and writers are bringing this show. As it is now, I don’t see it getting a fourth season. I am so disappointed in this third season. I keep waiting for something to turn around but with no avail. I’ll keep trying to hope….
