‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: More on James Earl Jones appearance
So how big of a role is James Earl Jones going to have on Thursday’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory“? Well, let’s just say that you’re going to be seeing a whole lot more of the actor here than you physically did on “Star Wars.” Meanwhile, an appearance from his co-star Carrie Fisher may just be little more than a brief glimpse.
You can see proof of all of this courtesy of the synopsis for “The Convention Conundrum,” which largely revolves around a situation that we imagine a number of geeks having around Comic-Con when they realize that they simply do not have the tools at their disposal to attend:
“After the guys can’t get Comic-Con tickets, Sheldon tries to hold his own convention and winds up spending a wild night with James Earl Jones. Meanwhile, the girls see if they can act like ‘grown-ups,’ on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Jan. 30 (8:00 – 8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher appear as themselves.”
Given in some ways what Comic-Con has become as of late (namely a giant room for people to stand around in to the point of them becoming sardines … or just a giant shopping mall), we actually feel like Sheldon’s convention could be somewhat more entertaining.
As for the storyline regarding the women, we have a hard time figuring out what we feel about it … mostly because the whole notion of seeing them “act like grown-ups” seems so ambiguous. Don’t they often do this already? Amy and Bernadette both more or less are frequently in a position where they have to care for their significant others, and Penny is probably the only one that does occasionally have bouts of immaturity.
