‘Girls’ season 3, episode 4 preview: ‘Dead Inside,’ and Adam’s sister spirals

The latest -If there is a villain on “Girls,” is it Adam’s sister Caroline? During this past new episode, we saw her perfectly play the victim card, lure Hannah in, and then start to go completely berserk all over her apartment. Her final scene, which involved breaking stuff, was one of the weirdest things that the show has ever put on the screen. Hannah may in part not want to kick her out because she feels bad, but she also may be genuinely terrified that this woman may completely destroy her if she even suggests something.

At the very end of the promo below for Sunday night’s “Dead Inside,” there is definitely a suggestion that a meltdown is coming involving both Hannah and Adam’s sister. It’s a shame too, since it is pretty hard to figure out just where in the world Hannah is going to go from here with this situation.

Also this week, expect a pretty substantial Jessa story as she tries to pick up the pieces of her life a little bit. Not only that, but Marnie will continue to deal with a myriad of issues, we’ll see Shoshanna try to be a comfort, and Ray offers us one of his best lines to date about whether or not people do actually want to work at Grumpy’s. (As we said in our review for this past new episode, we feel like Ray may actually be the best character on the show.)

As for our general take on “Girls” so far this season, there have been some great moments. Unfortunately, some of those moments have been overshadowed by some of the moments that either feel like too big of a stretch (Hannah’s party), or venture into becoming a cartoon. Let’s hope for a slide back into a more minimalist show, which is what we felt season 2 was.
