‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3, episode 10 review: Did Zoe, Shelby rule ‘Star of the Show’?

More news -Hart of Dixie” on Monday night was a hot mess. There was cabaret, weird character pairings, funny outfits, and some pretty terrible singing. It was in a way everything that we love about the show, and are confused about at the same time.

Somehow, someway, the entire episode revolved around a cabaret that was going to somehow help save BlueBell, and Zoe was thrust almost entire into the role of director. Protecting the town has been a difficult project for Lavon, and at the end of the episode, the good news is that things started to get going in the right direction. Thank Shelby’s singing for that … and not the performances of anyone else in the town.

On the relationship front, Wade and Vivian Wilkes are on their way to becoming a serious couple, and regardless of whether or not you are actually rooting for the two of them to be together, it is helping to make him a much more mature person than he was during his relationship with Zoe. Who knows? Maybe being with her will make him better for Zoe down the road, at least if these two do end up staying together.

Meanwhile, George’s relationship with Lynly took an unexpected turn mostly because he started to spend some time with Tansy … and Tansy started spending time with him. Clearly, there are still some feelings there, and Lynly has to be prepared for their relationship to fall apart.

The episode concluded with an impromptu performance from Zoe to Joel, which seemed perfect as a way to summarize everything. This was a silly, breezy episode for the most part. It was fun, but it’s hard to get that excited about an hour where very little actually happened, save for some story designed to get us from point A to point B. Grade: B-.
