‘The Crazy Ones’ spoilers: ‘Chuck’ alum Joshua Gomez scores guest-starring gig

Following his part on “Castle” earlier this TV season, Joshua Gomez has now officially booked his latest role. So where is he heading this time around? Think another show that has an ensemble cast, but also led by a big-name actor: “The Crazy Ones.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez, who is probably still to this day best known for his part as Morgan Grimes on the NBC fan favorite “Chuck,” has signed up to appear in the upcoming 16th episode of the CBS show. His role is that of George, a copywriter at Lewis, Roberts + Roberts who gets an opportunity to become a little more involved in the action. In particular, he spends a good deal of time with Hamish Linklater’s character of Andrew.

“The Crazy Ones” may not necessarily be the breakout new comedy of the season, but it has sustained a solid following on CBS, which is not too bad considering that this is a network that has not been particularly well-known over the years for getting into the world of single-camera comedies. Its fate for a prospective season 2 will hopefully become a little bit more clear a little later in the spring.

As for Gomez, what we really hope comes from this in time is an opportunity to eventually catapult into some other series, and maybe even book a return to the medium as a regular. “Chuck” has been off the air for two years now, and we have seen many of the actors all scatter off to a number of other different projects. For example, we just reported that Yvonne Strahovski has just signed up for “24” this summer, and Zachary Levi has spent much of the past several months fully immersed in the world of Broadway.
