‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Nina Dobrev, Candice Accola, and ‘The Devil Inside’

With this title, we’re talking about the title for the upcoming 12th episode of “The Vampire Diaries” this season, so get it out of your head already that there is some sort of devil hiding inside of Nina or Candice’s characters. Instead, that sort of stuff is going to be saved for an upcoming episode of “American Horror Story,” where they are going to throw together a mish-mash of anything that goes through Ryan Murphy’s stream of conscious thought without any real story attached to it. (We kid… sort of.)

But what exactly is going to happen during this episode? We know that is what you are here for, and therefore, we also want to be here to provide some great answers for you courtesy of the synopsis below. There’s some possible spoiler stuff in here about the 100th episode on January 23 (“The Devil Inside” airs the following week), so you’ve been warned:

“When Enzo (guest star Michael Malarkey) brings Damon (Ian Somerhalder) a gruesome present and insists that they bond by committing an act of revenge, Damon makes an effort to do the honorable thing. After finding himself in awkward and confusing conversations with Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda), Matt impulsively decides to throw a party, where Caroline (Candice Accola) makes a stunning confession to Elena (Nina Dobrev), then has to face the consequence of her actions with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Tyler (Michael Trevino). Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos) does his best to make amends for his family’s past misdeeds and start a new life for himself. Finally, Elena suddenly finds herself in a life-threatening situation with only minutes to figure out how to save herself.”

Hooray, Tyler’s back! But is he really going to have a reason to be that happy? We expect this episode to be chaos of the best kind, which means some romance-related and Damon getting to be Awesome Damon again.

The big thing missing from the synopsis? Katherine, but we have to imagine that this was an intentional move to make sure that you don’t know one way or another whether she lives or dies after the next big episode.
