ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 12 preview: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and James Brolin’s return

If you thought that Monday night’s “Castle” episode was dramatic, just wait until you see what the ABC show has in store for you next week. The writers are wasting no time when it coming to giving us some more emotional stuff to tackle, and with “Deep Cover,” they are once again bringing Rick back to a deep, emotional part of his past. James Brolin will be back, and hopefully he will be ready to deliver on some awesome story that gives you a deeper insight into why Jackson Hunt is the way that he is, and why he never made an effort to try to reconnect with all of his family beyond just his job.

You can get a sense as to what the basic outline of this story is, and how Hunt is going to re-enter this world, courtesy of the official synopsis:

“The murder of a young video store clerk takes a strange turn when the team discovers his past history as a high-level hacker. But it’s nothing compared to the shock Castle receives when their investigation leads them straight to his father, Jackson Hunt (guest star James Brolin)”

The promo below actually spoils the big reveal to Beckett that Jackson is her future father-in-law, and we get the sense of some of his not-so-nice ways in the process. The thing that actually makes us the most frustrated is that the run time here is incredibly short, with nearly half of the promo dedicated to getting people to watch online … even if there are new rules locking some of the content unless you have a plan through certain providers.
