Louis C.K. tells Jerry Seinfeld about ‘Louie’ season 4, show’s future on web series
“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” has always been a fun little web series that focuses on the irreverent and the insightful when it comes to comedy. It’s also a lesson in pretty cool cars that you won’t often see in many other places.
But who knew in the process that we would end up getting some genuine TV news in the process? On the latest episode of the Jerry Seinfeld series premiering today featuring comedian Louis C.K., he opened up somewhat about the new season of “Louie” premiering on FX a little later this year. This was a show that has been off of the air for over a year now thanks to the comic’s touring schedule, but he seems to be coming back now excited and rejuvenated. Not only that, but he told Seinfeld that he had recruited the help of comedic legend Steven Wright to help establish the tone and the story for what he planned to do moving forward.
As for how long C.K. could see his show possibly lasting, he told the comic somewhere around seven or eight seasons at the most. While Jerry joked that his show, being that it was loosely based on his life, could last forever, the comic claimed that he really did not foresee that happening.
The one thing that we can be sure of is that the folks over at FX are probably going to cherish “Louie” for as long as they can. This is the network’s most-successful comedy when it comes to awards recognition, and even though the ratings are not the best in the world, it provides a constant sense of buzz and promotion for itself just by being awesome.
