‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7, episode 13 preview: What happens to Sheldon’s job?

On tonight’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” season 7, you will see a story that really focuses on Penny’s job, and how she is going to be moving forward now that she has some more experience in the TV industry under her belt.

What could this eventually end up leading to? Think along the lines of something particularly shocking: Her finally deciding to leave the Cheesecake Factory after being their loyal stalwart for so many years. (This show has to thank the restaurant chain for all the publicity.) A jobless Penny could create some new challenges for the character, and also change just how much she hangs out with everyone else.

Based on the synopsis for next week’s episode “The Occupation Recalibration,” it appears that Penny’s new best friend could end up actually becoming Sheldon, mostly because he is going to have quite a bit of time on his hands for an entirely different reason:

“Sheldon tries to relax after he is forced to take a vacation. Meanwhile, Leonard struggles to be supportive of Penny after she quits her job, and Bernadette seeks Stuart’s help in replacing one of Howard’s comic books.”

As for why Sheldon could be forced into vacation, there are two very simple possibilities: Either the university wants to dispose of him for a while after he said something offensive (you can never rule that out, given his past interactions with HR), or he has just taken so few of his days off over the years that they are forcing him to camp out at home. The Stuart / Bernadette story also sounds entertaining since these two characters rarely interact; plus, this is the episode that is going to be featuring Josh Peck, playing the part of a rival comic-book store owner who could make Stuart very envious.
