‘New Girl’ season 3 spoilers: See more scoop on Zooey Deschanel … and basketball?

Even though “New Girl” may be on a hiatus right now the wait for new episodes is going to be over very soon. Not only that, but you are going to be getting an opportunity to see a particularly notable episode in “Basketsball” (seriously, it’s spelled that way) on Tuesday, January 14. This is the second episode back after the hiatus, and it is somewhat interesting that the show is going with something themed around hoops, especially when you consider that they have one coming up later in the season following the Super Bowl.

Without trying to spoil it here and then giving you the synopsis, let’s start things off by sharing that full description:

“Jess does a full-court press to solidify her friendship with Coach. But Nick goes on defense when they bond over his rival basketball team. Meanwhile, Schmidt is assigned to mentor a much older new hire at work and Winston discovers a new career path.”

Why does Winston need a new career path? Given that the other stories are a little more ambiguous at the moment, this is what we are the most curious about. There isn’t really a need for him to change jobs, given that he has seemed to have found his place where he is; but, “New Girl” almost seems to be a show about constant uncertainty. Jess has already tried out a variety of different jobs, and we have also seen Nick question whether or not he is really right as a bartender. We know that he’s got more potential than that … even if he doesn’t.
