‘American Horror Story: Coven’ finale spoilers: Are we going to see the new Supreme?

All season long on “American Horror Story: Coven,” there has been a great deal of time given to trying to figure out the answer to one simple question: Who out of the witches that we’ve come to know is the Supreme? So far, there have been a plethora of different people suspected for the role, whether you are talking about such people as Madison, Zoe, Nan, Misty, or Queenie. Basically, everyone that could be the Supreme has been questioned over it.

So when are we finally going to learn who it is? This may be a boring answer, but a press release from FX confirms that all will be revealed during the finale entitled “The Seven Wonders,” which is going to air on January 29. The only hope that we have with this is that it is somehow a surprise to everyone in the Coven, and does not happen by predictable circumstances.

For example, we may very well want to start booing if we learn that it is Zoe who is destined to be the most-powerful witch of the group. She is the main character of the story in some ways, and it happens far too often that we are told a story from the vantage point of the chosen one. It is far more interesting when we see it told from the perspective of someone who was close to the chosen one, and how they help that person to discover what they are really capable of. Of course, the show could redeem itself if Zoe is the Supreme just by finding some other ways to be awesome and surprising. Also more Evan Peters please.

“American Horror Story” has already been renewed for a fourth season, and one interesting thing to watch out for within this final episode is either a major clue, or a full-out reveal of what the next story could be. This is something that Ryan Murphy is toying with to make the story somewhat different this time around than either of the past two installments. In case you didn’t hear, season 4 is going to be the last for Jessica Lange.
