‘Modern Family’ season 5 spoilers: New details on Jesse Eisenberg episode, more

January is going to be a big month potentially for “Modern Family,” at least when it comes to there being an episode about jail and wedding planning, and also an episode that features some of the best guest stars the show has ever seen. Given that there is a pretty great roster on this series over the course of the past five years, it is definitely an impressive thing when you are able to say this.

Basically, the purpose of this article is to just give you a few official details from ABC on the two episodes that have been announced at this point in January, starting with the one airing a week from Wednesday.

“And One to Grow On” (airing on January 8) – “Phil tricks Luke into taking a dance class, but the jokes on him when the white lie indirectly lands him in the slammer. Meanwhile, Jay and Gloria are throwing birthday parties for both Manny and Joe and are concerned Manny might be going for girls out of his league, and Mitch and Cam get a rude awakening in the cutthroat world of booking a wedding venue.”

“Under Pressure” (airing on January 15) – “The high school open house puts the parents in a bit of a time warp when Claire finds herself stressed out by all the pressure, Gloria encounters a ‘mean girl’ mom (guest star Jane Krakowski) and Jay teaches Phil how to play a little hookie. Elsewhere, Mitchell gets defensive when he encounters his judgmental, environmentalist neighbor (guest star Jesse Eisenberg) and Alex goes to see a therapist (guest star John Benjamin Hickey).”

When it comes to episodes we are most looking forward to, the latter episode is more interesting to us given the premise and the guest star list, even though Krakowski is just coming off playing a very different sort of mean girl on “30 Rock.” But at least both have the potential to provide laughter for days, and we are very much excited for this.
