‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: Alicia vs. Will (again); Jordana Spiro’s return
Do you miss “The Good Wife” being on the air? The good news that we have for you now is that you are not going to have to wait very long to see some more new episodes of the critically-acclaimed CBS hit. The show will return with new episodes on Sunday, January 5 following the holidays, and right away there will be a case that pits Alicia against a very familiar and formidable foe: Will. Just when you started to hope that the tension over leaving Lockhart Gardner was dying down, a situation like the one that we’re about to describe comes into play.
During the episode (entitled “Goliath and David”), Alicia’s challenge comes in that her small firm has to go against Will’s in a case, and he has all of the knowledge and the power of how to defeat her. Take a look at the official synopsis below for some more details:
“Alicia represents a band suing a TV show for copyright infringement, but the simple case becomes psychological warfare when Will joins the opposing council and uses his knowledge of Alicia’s strengths and weaknesses against her. Also, Eli hires Kalinda in an attempt to get ahead of a potential scandal.”
It is also worth noting that this episode is going to be featuring another appearance from Jordana Spiro as Kalinda’s new love interest Detective Jenna, and the recurring / guest roles do not stop there. The likes of F. Murray Abraham, Jason O’Mara, and “The Bridge’s” Matthew Lillard are also going to be appearing in some capacity during the hour, which will hopefully get the new year for the show off on the right foot, and continue some of the great things that we mentioned in our recent Midseason Report Card piece on the show.

My problem is determining when “the good wife” will be on due to sports programs running too long. Infuriating.

I personally would like to see all of Peter’s underlying corruption blow up in his face in the remainder of the season. And Alicia will have to pay eventually for her betrayal as well. I would also like to see if Eliot Spitzer new divorce announcement has any effect on the outcome of this show, because the way Peter is looking, it should.
I also want to see more Cary and Carey, more Diane, less Isabel, less Damian, and more Kalinda without her new chick. Not fond of her new love interest very much, it would have made more sense if she finally got serious with the FBI agent. It’s time for her to move on to man, someone to redeem her from her sick attraction to Nick.
And the obvious part is I would love to see a resolution between Alicia and Will. While I hope and pray they get back together, it doesn’t seem like that is likely, so we Willicia shippers at least need to get closure. Please!
