‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: More scoop about Ghost Killer’s arrival, a familiar face

Remember that scoop that Pelant was going to “return” in some form on an upcoming episode of “Bones” season 9? Well, the good news here is that it doesn’t look like this is a situation where he is going to crawl out of the ground like a zombie from “The Walking Dead.” Instead, Andrew Leeds is going to return to the show in some sort of dream-like form after Brennan starts to realize that there may be something deeper going on with a case that she is working on.

The episode that features more Pelant is the first back for the show in “The Ghost in the Killer,” which airs on Fox come Friday, January 10. Take a look at the full synopsis below, which also includes some surprising news regarding a connection to Hodgins who may be involved in the case:

“The Jeffersonian team investigates the death of Lana Brewster, a girl whose remains are delivered to Brennan and Booth’s home by someone who believes her death 18 years ago was no accident. When the team discovers that Lana was murdered and her death was covered up, people from her past become key suspects, including an ex-boyfriend with whom Hodgins was friends. Meanwhile, Brennan starts having dreams again about evil tech genius Pelant, and about a potentially more heinous killer, whom she realizes could be involved with Lana’s death.”

Early buzz is that the “Ghost Killer” is going to be the new Big Bad to take the place of Pelant now that this character is officially dead, but if we are going to be meeting him or her at some point in the near future, the show is keeping it under wraps. There has not been any news regarding casting for the character … but then again, isn’t the point of a ghost to be as secretive as possible?
