‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: More news on Nyssa al Ghul’s arrival

“Arrow’s” second season is now becoming a city of villains no matter how you look at it. While there are characters such as Slade Wilson and Brother Blood who are more the traditional Big Bads, there are also some characters like the Dollmaker who are suited for one-episode appearances that still have a certain level of emotional resonance to them.

But what about the continued story of the League of Assassins here? They represent a very different sort of villain to the universe of the show, mostly because they cannot be looked at in the same sort of way as anyone else on the show. They are enormously threatening just courtesy of their mystique, and you know that all of them have the skill to create a few epic moments here and there.

As for when will be the next time you really see them get involved in the story, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teases to TV Guide that Nyssa al Ghul’s arrival later this season is going to be an effective way of really amping up the story once again of Sarah Lance, and making this world all the more complex yet again:

“She’s the next wave of the League of Assassins that comes to Starling City. She’s certainly exotic, beautiful and smart. She has some interesting secrets as well.”

One other interesting factoid revealed in the article is that the actress playing the part in Katrina Law was at one point considered for the role of Shado. The reason why that didn’t happen? Producers were worried about creating too much of a force tied to the world of “Spartacus” in between her an Manu Bennett. Luckily, they were able to find another interesting way to still use her.
