‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: New promo teases Stephen Amell – Kevin Alejandro showdown

The second half of “Arrow” season 2 is going to be starting back up on Wednesday, January 15, and if you weren’t already excited for the show, the promo below may be enough to leave you giddy.

Basically, the focus of this new clip is to hype up what will be the primary showdown of the first few episodes back following the hiatus: The battle between Oliver Queen’s hero and then Brother Blood, otherwise known as Sebastian Blood. The problem that Oliver runs into is not putting two and two together, and knowing who is responsible for passing along the serum to create his own army of monsters in Starling City.

So what about Slade Wilson? Remembering that Manu Bennett is a series regular, it is pretty easy to guess that his role is far from over on the show. He may be a villain that takes a while to start to materialize for Oliver; before anything else, he has to realize that he is still involved in everything that is going on in the city in the present-day. Given that Stephen Amell’s hooded / now-masked character does not often like to share details about his past save for those flashbacks, there is really no telling as to what sort of relationship he had with the man before he ended up leaving the island. All we know for now is that Slade’s not so thrilled at seeing his “friend” be responsible for the death of Shado, even if he was not really given that much of a choice in the matter.

Also, you can see a brief appearance in here of a certain “Firefly” alum in Sean Maher, who is going to be doing a guest arc on the series moving forward as the villain Shrapnel. He is not going to be a villain on the same level as Slade, but he’s an interesting addition that further shows that the producers really like the Joss Whedon show. (They already have River!)
