‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: A deeper dive into Ali’s diary

“Pretty Little Liars” finally confirmed many suspicions regarding the fate of Alison DiLaurentis during the Halloween special earlier this year, but there are still many other mysteries out there related to the character. For example, how many secrets did Ali really hold on all of the Liars prior to her sudden “death”? That’s something that is going to be revealed in the second episode following the show’s January 7 return, which has the pretty funny title of “Love Shack Baby.”

As you can see in the full synopsis below,  there are problems that could surface for our four female leads stemming from just the sole fact that they somehow still have secrets that they have kept from each other. We don’t really know how that is possible anymore (given how many bad things have been exposed already), but these four must have set some sort of record for mischief during their early teenage years before Ali disappeared.

“Now that Hanna has shared with Aria, Emily and Spencer that she has Ali’s diary, the girls hope it can shed light on their many questions. But with the diary full of stories that have been coded to cover the truth, each girl must take a turn to figure out which stories are about them. Hopefully when they are through they will find the story that could finally give them answers to who has been going after Ali. But with each story more personal than the last, do Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer really want to admit which story is about them?

“Meanwhile, Spencer is suspicious of her father’s latest interaction with Mrs. DiLaurentis.”

The elephant in the room (or maybe at least the elephant in the synopsis) is that there is really no mention in here of what in the world is going on with Ezra. After teasing us for so long with the big reveal of him being “A” (or at least a part of the team), why not share some more secrets now?
