‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 14 preview: ‘Slapsgiving 3,’ the slap bet returns

Prior to this season of “How I Met Your Mother,” there were few things out there that many were as excited to see as the return of the slap bet. Barney has had this coming a long time, and you know that the end results here are going to be somewhat genius.

But when are you going to see the episode air? Well, we now have an answer courtesy of “Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra.” Despite being the 15th episode produced this season, it will air as episode 9×14 on Monday, January 13 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. It feels like there is probably not even that big of a need here to give a proper introduction. There is the slap bet, and there may not be too much else. Given that we haven’t seen Barney and Marshall really together in the same room for a while, that just makes the anticipation and the drama even greater.

As for some of the other stuff that is coming up in the near future, know this:

1. Episode 9×15 is entitled “Unpause,” and based on the events in tonight’s episode (read the full review here), you can probably imagine that this is going to be the episode that touches fully on what Marshall and Lily are going to do in regards to Italy, and Marshall opting to become a judge without really talking it over with his wife first.

2. Episode 9×16 is the 200th episode of the series, and it is entitled “How Your Mother Met Me.” The story should be pretty obvious here, if you haven’t heard already: The story of what happened to Cristin Milioti’s character to get her in the position where she could meet Ted, and the two could begin the journey towards their own wedding and happy ending someday.
