‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: First look at midseason finale, tough episode for Vance
The bad news this week is that there’s no new episode of “NCIS” coming up Tuesday night; however, we imagine that there is still a few other stories coming up that you are going to enjoy, especially the midseason finale airing on December 17. This is an hour of television that will give both Abby and Jimmy the opportunity to do something great really for the first time this season; not only that, but this will be an emotional episode for Vance as he tries to celebrate his first Christmas alone. (We wonder just how much celebration is really going to be going on.)
This episode is the 11th of the season entitled “Homesick,” and the full synopsis below via CBS should give you a little idea about what you can expect:
“After a mysterious illness strikes children from military families, Gibbs and the team investigate the cause. Meanwhile, Abby and Jimmy partner with the Naval Medical Research Center to determine the strain of illness, all in hopes of delivering a cure before the holidays. Also, Director Vance struggles with forgiveness as his estranged father-in-law makes a surprise visit to his home.”
While some midseason finales tend to be created in a way that lead to epic cliffhangers or long-term storylines, this doesn’t feel like anything of the sort. Instead, what we have here is an episode that is really designed more to just capitalize on the characters that you’ve been around for so long, and pull on your heartstrings a little bit. This is also going to be the sort of syndication warrior that USA and other networks will appreciate when they are coming up with their “best of” holiday marathons over the years.
This is the first episode since the arrival of Bishop that does not mention her in the synopsis, which to us suggests that maybe, this is the one where she starts to fully be a part of the team.
